Donating to SWLR

Southwest Llama Rescue, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. As such, any donations you make are tax deductible.

Can I sponsor a llama or a few? How does that work?
We have three sponsorship levels. See details on our Sponsorship page.

What does my donation go toward?
All donations go directly to the care and feeding of our rescue llamas. Each llama requires approximately $75 per month to feed and house. Veterinary and any extraordinary care are costs beyond that monthly average.

Do you hire people to help out?
Our foster care providers and other volunteers donate their time and energies to train and care for our animals. Additionally, we have volunteers who come in to assist. Interested in volunteering?

What kind of daily care do they really need?
Llamas, like any animal, require feed specific to their bodies, minerals and salts to supplement their diets, and adequate shelter. They also need fresh water daily. Pregnant, nursing or elderly llamas may need additional nutritional supplementation. Many llamas come to us without ever having had vaccinations, so we provide those, along with any other necessary care such as toenail trimming, blunting of fighting teeth, shearing and veterinary care. More about llamas!

Can I volunteer to help instead of sending money?
We gratefully accept offers to help. If you're near one of our foster homes or intake centers, please contact us for more information. Contact us to volunteer!
